about

Ashley Elnicki teaches public and private yoga classes in Denver, as well as teaching at the University of Colorado law school in Boulder as an adjunct professor. She focuses on vinyasa but teaches restorative and hatha yoga, too. Her vinyasa classes tend to be physically challenging, with an emphasis on alignment and presence, and she is committed to creating a supportive environment for all students.

Ashley was raised in Southeast Kansas, where she also earned a B.A., summa cum laude, from Pittsburg State University. She then earned a J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, after which she moved to New York City to join the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. There, she advised public and private companies on the tax aspects of complex business transactions for almost seven years, and, during this time, yoga became a refuge from a high-pressure job. She loved getting away from her phone for an hour and calming her mind after a stressful day. She eventually left the law firm, earned a 200-hour, alignment-based, vinyasa yoga teacher certification, and taught yoga in NYC for a year before moving to Denver in 2021.

Ashley is excited to aid you on your wellness journey. Check out her public teaching schedule or contact her for private yoga sessions and corporate events.

Active and Slow Flow Vinyasa

Ashley specializes in vinyasa and provides both an active, challenging practice and a slower, more accessible flow.  In both cases, she encourages presence, often with breath awareness, and connects with her students with hands-on adjustments.  Her goal is for students to feel strong, uplifted, and peaceful.

Restorative

Ashley also teaches restorative yoga, in which she quiets the body and mind by systematically triggering the body’s relaxation responses.  Deep relaxation allows the release of muscle tension and lowers blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormone levels, among other benefits.  Restorative may be practiced alone or as part of a cool-down after an active practice.
